Ghana Standards Authority
The Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) seeks to become a customer-focused world class standards organization contributing towards the growth of industry, protection of consumers and facilitation of trade through standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment. The GETP is supporting the GSA in addressing its capacity challenge to implement its Strategic Plan and meaningfully contribute to key industrialization development and diversification programs. These include inadequate laboratory equipment, servicing and repair, inadequate provision of laboratory and office space, and insufficient training of GSA staff in metrology and certification of products and systems. The support also seeks to strengthen the regulatory and institutional framework for Ghana’s Quality infrastructure and support key reforms, regulations and investments including the Ghana Standards Bill, National Quality Infrastructure Policy (NQP), ISO 9001(2015) certification of GSA units and departments, and development of regional labs. This support will go a long way to enhance Ghana’s export trade competitiveness on the global market.
